4° WEST / IMAGERY • TECHNOLOGY • CONSERVATION

A different perspective.
A clearer picture.

Photography, filming and drone technology for creative projects, agriculture and conservation.

A selection of my footage — from the ground and the air.

WHAT I DO

Creative vision. Practical insight.

01

Photography & filming

Photography, aerial imagery and filming that bring people, places and projects into view. Visual work sits alongside the technical side of 4° West, combining an eye for the image with a practical approach to capturing it.

02

Agriculture & smart farming

Drone imagery, multispectral processing and QGIS analysis, alongside LoRaWAN sensors and environmental monitoring. Connecting observations from the air with measurements on the ground provides a fuller picture of agricultural conditions. LiDAR adds canopy height measurements and whole-landscape mapping for habitat and land-use monitoring, as well as forestry mapping for commercial and conservation projects.

03

Conservation & habitat monitoring

Experience includes Sphagnum moss imagery over raised peatlands, mixed-species sward imaging, habitat monitoring and thermal imaging to detect animals. Marine mammal monitoring around Bardsey adds a coastal perspective.

FEATURED PROJECT / BARDSEY

Marine mammals.
A new perspective.

I was one of the two drone operators who piloted dolphin monitoring around Bardsey, and I remain involved in the project. The focus is Risso’s dolphins, alongside wider marine mammal recording and LiDAR surveys of seal haul-out areas.

The project film features some of my footage and my contribution on camera.

FROM CAPTURE TO UNDERSTANDING

The landscape.
The detail. The data.

LiDAR for canopy heights, whole-landscape mapping, habitat and land-use monitoring, and commercial or conservation forestry. Multispectral imagery, Metashape and QGIS workflows bring aerial observations into focus. LoRaWAN sensors and environmental dashboards add measurements from the ground.
